6 People You Must Have in Your Network to Be Successful

The best entrepreneurs know success has a lot to do with who they surround themselves with.

Everybody loves an entrepreneurial success story a la Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, Arianna Huffington, Mark Cuban and the like.

Truth be told, each one of those people would be the first to tell you they didn’t get where they are today without certain types of people in their lives.

There are six types of people every entrepreneur must have in their life to have a chance of achieving success:

1. Booster

The Booster’s main purpose is to encourage you when your journey takes an unexpected detour. I wouldn’t start another business (or go a day further into your current venture) until you find someone who will encourage you, regardless of the circumstances.

Boosters tend to be spouses, significant others, a close relatives, or an older friend. As hard as is it to build a business, you need as many Boosters as you can get in your life.

2. Juror

A jury in a trial makes a decision about a specific case after learning all the facts. The concept is the same. The Juror provides you with direct criticism about your performance in both business and in life.

In a current episode of the Follow My Lead Podcast, Bob Beaudine referred to this position as a “personal board of directors.” Therefore, it’s critical that you have at least a few Jurors in your personal network, whether or not you have a formal board of directors.

3. Advisor

In times of need, the Advisor is the one you should call or text. Making a significant organisational choice or selecting a new employee are two good examples.

They frequently have commercial experience in and close to your industry. They constantly make time for you and offer guidance.

They are crucial because sometimes their advise goes against what you are thinking and you don’t want to hear it. Remember that their only goal is to make you or your company succeed.

4. Partner

As the yin to your yang, the Partner is. They can cover for your inadequacies with their complementary skills. Contrary to popular assumption, there is no requirement that this co-founder split equally. The Partner is typically an internal individual who is intimately familiar with both you and the business.

Working with them can be challenging at times as a result, but ultimately the company couldn’t function without them.

5. Collaborator

Every single entrepreneur has to have someone in their life who can act as a dummy and listen to ideas while making an instant judgement. By definition, a collaborator is someone who will either assist you in pursuing novel company concepts, goods, promotions, or anything in between.

The finest collaborators have excellent imaginations and share ideas.

6. Incentivizer

Someone who doubted you, said you couldn’t do it, or implied you weren’t good enough is known as the Incentivizer. You are driven to prove them wrong because their words or deeds have been seared into your memory. They inspired action, which was the most crucial thing they did for you.

You have established a network to support your success if you can’t name all six of these people right away. The best aspect is that you may respond right away if you notice any holes.
